Q: Are you a film festival?
A: No, we are not a film festival, but we do collaborate with film festival organizations. We are a cinema pop-up that provides a great opportunity for exposure to film festival coordinators.
Q: How much does it cost to attend your events?
A: Our cinema events are usually free, unless we need to charge to cover the cost of a particular event.
Q: How long is the showing?
A: We usually show films for about one hour and twenty minutes, which is the average length of a feature film. This may include intermission and pre/post lounging.
Q: Do you only showcase films in the basement of XL Publichouse?
A: No, our flagship pop-up location is at XL Publichouse but we also host special cinema pop-ups at other locations and times, when permitted.
Q: Are you a business or a nonprofit?
A: No, IBC is organized by volunteer staff and community members who want to give filmmakers a space to share their work.
Q: Who can become an IBC member?
A: IBC membership is for people who have participated in or actively support the film community. We want our screenings to be a welcoming space were filmmakers and supporters can connect. Members age 21 and under must be involved in film or visual art productions.
Q: Can I attend if I am not a member?
A: yes, if an IBC member invite you as their guest. Other non-members may be admitted to an IBC's discretion, subject to space and venue rules. Guest may be asked to show ID, sign in, or complete a waiver before entering.
Q: Is there an age limit to be a member?
A: No. But keep in mind most of our screenings are out of our 21 over flagship venue, but we also host pop-up events that may be open to all ages check each event announcement for its age requirement.
Q: Do I need to provide my email when I sign up to become a member, and what do you do with my email information?
A: Your email helps us verify your identity, but if you have any issues, you can let one of our staff members know and we can provide an alternative method. Your email will only be used to send you updates and invites to special IBC events. We will never sell your email to a third party.

A: Yes. Members may invite guests and should tell them about the event’s age requirement and IBC House Rules. Guests may be asked to show ID, sign in, or complete a waiver.

A:Most IBC screenings are held at our flagship venue, which is 21 and over. We also host pop-up events that may welcome younger members. Check each event announcement for its age requirement. Valid ID is required at 21-and-over events.
Membership does not guarantee entry or a seat. Admission depends on venue rules and available space.

A: Yes, anyone can submit video content. Our staff members will review submissions and determine if they are suitable for a screening.

A: Submitting video content is free, unless we agree to charge a small fee for a special event service (e.g., a fundraiser for your film or a special screening).
Q: Can I screen my film at IBC before submitting it to festivals?
A: Yes. We want the films we showcase to have every opportunity to enter short film festivals. If your film is new, you can use our space for a test screening, or a private invitation-only screening. Festival rules vary, so please check your target festivals' premier requirements before scheduling.
Q: How do you choose what content to show at each event?
A: We consider the theme or genre of the event, and then review submissions to determine which ones are most suitable.
Q: How will I know if IBC will show my content?
A: We will announce selected films through our media links or contact you directly. Please note that we choose films on a monthly basis and can only select a limited number of submissions due to the volume of entries. Films that are not chosen will be considered for future events at a later date, please be patient.
