IBC house Rules

Indy basement cinema is a space for filmmakers and film lovers to watch, share, and discuss independent work. Please help us respect the filmmakers, the venue, and everyone attending. 

• Respect the films. Do not record a screening or post footage from it. Ask the filmmaker before sharing details or reviews of a film that has not been publicly released. 

• Respect the room. Keep your phone silent, avoid talking during screenings, and step outside if you need to take a call. Feedback is welcome; heckling is not. 

• Respect the venue. Follow the venue’s rules and clean up after yourself. Do not bring outside beverages. 

• Check the event details. Age requirements vary by venue. Most screenings at our flagship location are 21 and over, and valid ID is required there. 

• Plan for seating. Seats are first come, first served. Membership or an invitation does not guarantee a seat if we reach capacity. 

Members are responsible for making sure their guests know these rules. IBC or the venue may refuse entry or ask someone to leave for violating them.
